Mrs. Petry's Class
Hi, and welcome to class! I multitask at Hillcrest, teaching some language arts and some social studies. I really enjoy both subjects and especially love how they connect with each other all the time. If you have me for a teacher, you'll be doing some of each, no matter which class you're in! This is my 6th year at Hillcrest and I'm glad to work at such a great school. Before Hillcrest, I taught high school in southern California (history and government). And before that, I went to college at The Master's College, where I majored in history and got my teaching credential.
Teaching and planning and grading keeps me busy, but when I'm not at school, I mostly can be found spending time with the loves of my life, my husband and my daughter. Mr. Petry is also a middle school teacher (math); and my daughter Madeleine, who's 2, spends her time reading picture books and getting into everything she's not supposed to touch! We have a feisty cat named Samurai and a house filled with books.
